Just Simple Things

Most Modern Library Current

If your existing library in Chicago Unversity may be surprised by two things, first a dome-shaped building and utilizing 100% of sunlight as a source of illumination.

Second, you must wonder, why is he the library but you can not find any books in this library.

Called Joe and Rika Mansueto with the Library, the library will probably be the most advanced library at this time because all their books are stored in the soil. Meanwhile, to put down the book and put it all done by computers and robots.

Storage area of the book lies in the ground with the equivalent of 5 tingggi room floor and all the books are stored in giant racks. In total there are about 3.5 million books.

All the books are stored in a container that can store 100 books and the container (a total of 35 000 containers) will be placed on a shelf where a giant robot will
pick up and put the book based on a barcode system.

To borrow a book you can do it online via a computer and a book will come out to a special table in about 5 minutes.
This method is of course not only in terms of putting it easier to get the book but at the same time can save space so that according to the maker, this book warehouse can store seven times more than the library of the same size.

Cool? Of course, since these libraries spent approximately U.S. $ 81 million (approximately Rp. 800 billion).

Want to know why the name of Joe and Rika Mansueto library Library? That's because Joe and Rika Mansueto Yoshida is an alumni of Chicago University is contributing money of U.S. $ 25 million so for a sense of "thank you", the library is named after them.
